It seems like lately all the latest diet trends are featured around allergies. Gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free, we’re seeing new labels pop-up on food everywhere. This got me thinking about Oliver, my friend’s dachshund mix. Oliver is the sweetest, silliest, hungriest dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. With his big grey eyes, he lights up at the smell of bacon, chicken, rice, or anything else he might think you’re not sharing.
As he scampers about on his pudgy little legs, my friend worries how he would know if Oliver even suffered from allergies. The ASPCA has a handy list to help you see the symptoms:
- Itchy, red, moist, or scabbed skin
- Increased scratching
- Itchy, runny eyes
- Sneezing
- Vomiting
- Snoring cause by and inflamed throat
- Swollen paws
- Constant licking
If you think your furry friend is suffering from any of these, don’t hesitate to take him to your vet immediately.
