What the F*ck Are You Feeding Your Dog?

Your dog's food was built to survive a shelf

Sixteen months of shelf stability is an engineering problem somebody solved a long time ago. Sixteen good years for your dog is a harder problem, and this industry isn't working on it.

Read the back of the bag you bought this week. Find the protein. If it's sitting fifth behind three grains and something called "meal," that bag was built for the warehouse.

We're me. Cindy.

Scout & Zoe's is not a wholly owned subsidiary of an international mega corporation.

It started with Zoe. She was allergic to nearly every protein there is, from six months old, and I spent years buying her what the vet told me to buy. Then I learned to read a label properly and realized I'd been feeding her crap for eight years. Meal after meal. Because somebody told me it was fine.

So I started making it myself, in my garage, out of things nobody else was using.

Better nutrition isn't always cute

Wild-caught invasive carp. Black soldier fly larvae. Venison, rabbit, lamb lung, elk antler. Proteins your dog has never eaten, which is exactly the point if their body has decided it hates the usual ones. Single ingredient. Human grade. Made in the USA in USDA inspected facilities. Protein leads every recipe, every time.
